Some jobs need both hands and a way to park a long tool or a long gun for a moment without setting it down. The ICONTACTIC Magnetic Retention Catch is a flat fabric pouch with a magnet inside. It straps to modular webbing on a carrier or chest rig, or to a belt, and holds a steel object against the body until you pull it away. There is no clip to open and no strap to undo: place the object on the face and it stays; lift it and it comes free.

Overview

The catch is a square soft pouch with a plain face and bound edges. The magnet sits inside the face. On the back, two vertical straps with snap fasteners weave through modular webbing or close around a belt, and two slots at the bottom keep the pouch flat. It is worn vertically at the hip or on the chest. The object rests on the face and is held by the magnet; pulling it away releases it. Colours are planned as Black, Coyote Brown and Ranger Green.

Compatibility

Works with modular webbing and with belts that fit under the snap straps. Holds ferrous steel objects only; aluminium, polymer and stainless parts are not held. Strap width range is published after verification.

Setup and use

Weave the two straps through a row of modular webbing, or pass them around a belt, and close the snaps. Check that the pouch sits flat and cannot rotate. Rest the object on the face and confirm that it seats before letting go.

Care

Brush off grit and wipe with a damp cloth. Keep the face clear of metal filings. Inspect the straps and snaps for wear before use.
